IRENE has lived in my heart and mind for nearly half a decade. She was an idea formed through layers of appreciation for textiles, art, fashion and interior design. IRENE began as a thought and feeling, something I couldn’t quite put words to, yet instinctively knew. Eventually over time, IRENE manifested as a sartorial re-imagining of the fabrics that live in our homes and near our bodies, those everyday pieces that play an intimate, quiet role in our lives.
From the blankets that swaddle us during moments of rest, the cloths of fabric that adorn the tables we share meals around, the towels that embrace our bodies after a steaming hot shower and the pillows we rest our weary heads on. These pieces carry meaning, memory and can evoke feeling when we connect with them. IRENE is a celebration of this.
